Petra was the capital of the Nabataea Empire from 400 BCE to 106 CE. The history of Petra is very involved and easy to research. It is one of the 7 New Wonders of the World and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Petra is an impressive civilization of the Nabataean Arabs. The Treasury is the masterpiece. This first gallery is theTreasury, I love slot canyons, and this is the ultimate prize at the end. 

If you look at the first and last images in this gallery, they are the same view but at two different times of the day. The morning vs. the late afternoon. It was interesting to see how the light affected the photographs.
