Fortescue
Where is Fortescue? It is a community in Downe Township, Cumberland County. It is located on the southern coast, on Delaware Bay, surrounded on three sides by marshland. It has a population of about 400. Elevation: 7′ and 200 acres. It is a destination, you do not drive through it to go anywhere else. I don't go as often as I should because it is only good for sunset. No moon rise. It is a lovely sea village and a great beach. During bird migration and horseshoe crab seasons, many areas are closed off. I still go and photograph now and then. You can see the silhouettes of the houses from Turkey Point when it is clear.
