New Jersey Marshes
Port Norris and Bivavle
Not far from my own back yard are the salt hay marshes of Cumberland County, NJ. I spend as mush time as I can in the preserved areas capturing special moments in time, moonrise, moonset, sunrise and sunset. I feel as if I am anywhere but in New Jersey. It is ever changing which makes it ideal for photographs. I am building a collection of seasonal changes that will give a true perspective along with the special moments. The challenge as time goes on, is to make the same views look fresh. It always feels the same but I work to find the new details in those seasonal changes.
So many storms since August 2011. We were really hammered in July 2012. But after Sandy the marshes are looking rather rough. The trees were dead but are nearly all gone now in the open areas. My kissing trees are gone, see image cobb_17_0082-2.
